Industrialization of MIM process technology

With the large-scale industrialization of MIM process technology, general production equipment in traditional powder metallurgy and injection molding industries, as well as various specialized metal injection molding industrial production equipment, have been widely used in the industrial production of metal injection molding. The improvement of enterprises’ requirements for industrial production efficiency and equipment automation, continuous processing and equipment performance has promoted the industrialization process of metal injection molding. The comprehensive development of the MIM industry requires the use of production equipment to improve the production efficiency of enterprises. Correctly selecting and mastering various equipment in the MIM production process can improve product quality, output and labor productivity, and accelerate industrial development.

At present, the mixing process mainly uses traditional double planetary mixers, single screw extruders, piston extruders, twin screw extruders, eccentric wheel mixers, z-shaped impeller mixers, etc., which can ensure the uniformity and high efficiency of the mixing. The injection process can also draw on traditional injection equipment, such as dual-circuit injection molding machines, dual-template injection molding machines, tie-bar-free injection machines, fully automatic injection machines, electromagnetic dynamic injection molding machines, etc., which can better meet the filling technical requirements.

As for the degreasing process, since degreasing is a field that has never been involved in the relevant industry before, its principle is: under the premise of ensuring that the parts obtained by injection molding do not deform, the various components in the binder are used to gradually change into gaseous or liquid substances as the temperature rises, and separate from the injection molding blank to achieve the purpose of removing the binder. Therefore, the position of this process in the entire MIM technology is particularly special and important.

The parts after degreasing have almost no strength, and the slightest vibration may cause the parts to be damaged. At the same time, considering the degreasing and sintering stages to reduce the energy waste caused by repeated heating of parts as much as possible, consider integrating the traditional single processes such as degreasing, sintering, and heat treatment into a comprehensive process, which can reduce the uncertain factors in production, improve the quality of molded parts, and greatly improve production efficiency.
